Coravin Pivot

New Coravin system looks interesting. Uses stoppers (you actually take the cork out) and purports to keep for four weeks (not indefinitely). Seems faster and easier than the needle. If it works, I’d be tempted to replace my existing Coravin with it since I never seem to use my Coravin - it just always seems like a hassle and the pouring is so slow. Besides, I don’t trust it to store for years anyway. A couple weeks before I finish it is all I need.

Interesting - seems to ‘play’ off the popular Vacu-Vin system a bit and is certainly more ‘user friendly’ than their existing system. I’d still be curious to see how well these wines hold up after more than 1/3 of the bottle is consumed . . .

Cheers.

If you have the OG coravin this is probably unnecessary. Not sure how this is less work either, since you have to uncork and insert a stopper plus opening and closing it each time. The hole is fairly wide too, with more risk of oxygenation.
