The '05 is drinking really nicely now, but would be fine with another 2-4 years in the cellar I think. I’m down to one bottle.

Any views on the 2008?

Haven’t had it.

James, it’s been a few years, but the '08s here were a little lighter than all of the surrounding vintages. At one time I had VdP, St-Joseph and the VV, with the VV being the last one I finished back in 2017. I don’t have any notes from that period, but I’d guess the regular might be on a slight downward trend, and the VV is probably at peak. I’d try whichever you have and see…the Faury wines are always balanced nicely, so even in a lighter vintage they might surprise because of their elegance and balance.

Thanks, all.

Wow, this is in a good place. Black olives, meaty iron, dark berries… A dense, delicious charmer.

This was the 2010 Vieilles Vignes.
