End 2020 - Beginning 2021 interesting wines (and also a few relative disappointments)

#1 Post by Laurent Gibet »

Arbois Authentique Jérôme Arnoux 2016 : 17/20
Discovery. Savagnin non ouillé, very pure/long.

Champagne JM Sélèque Solessense rosé : 17,5/20
Discovery. Quite cheap and should age well.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape New Castle Poivre d’âne 2016 : 16,5/20
Discovery. Thought it could be Mas St-Louis.

Domaine Imre Kalo , Grüner Veltiner , Hongrie : 18/20
UFO wine, macerated, very personal, dense, long.

Meursault Coche-Dury 2010 : 18,5/20
Rayas rouge 2008 : 18,5/20
Jerez Valdespino Oloroso VOS medium sweet : 18,5/20 (I love this kind of wine, a few PX Added).

Domaine Haut-Bergeron, 'Cuvée 114' , Sauternes 2010 : 18/20
Taylor's Fladgate, Porto vintage 2009 : 18,5/20
Maison Bollinger 'Grande Année' 2007 pinot noir 70% chardonnay 30% : 18/20
Domaine Buisson-Charles, Meursault 1er cru 'Charmes' 2005 : 17/20
Château Montrose, 2ème cc du Médoc, Saint Estèphe 2004 : 17/20
Maison Burmester, 'Colheita 2003', Porto : 17/20
Domaine Vial Magnières, ' Al Tragou', Banyuls Tuilé 1993 : 17,5/20
Monthélie Coche-Dury : 2017/20

Not as good as expected :
Domaine du Marquis d'Angerville, Volnay 1er cru 'Clos des Ducs' ( Monopole) 1990 : 16/20
Domaine Thierry Allemand, ' Chaillots' , Cornas 2005 : 16,5/20
Domaine Rinaldi, Barolo ' Brunate-Coste' 2009 : 16,5/20

Curiously flawed (the former tastinng was stunning) :

Côtes du Jura Vin jaune Boilley-Frémiot Sylvie et Jean-Luc 1998
