TN: 2017 Domaine Lignier-Michelot, 2019 Chignard Fleurie

Warmer weather and long days means that I have been slaking my thirst with an increased proportion of beer at the end of each day, but a couple of reds have been busted.
2017 Domaine Lignier-Michelot Morey-Saint-Denis "En La Rue de Vergy"
I was anticipating more flesh and voluptuosness, given the vintage and my first taste of this wine a couple of years ago. It has tightened up and there is some back end astringency, but still shows bright blue fruits, some stalky, briary notes. Revisit in a few years.

2019 Domaine Chignard Fleurie "Les Moriers"
This is not one of those super fleshy black cherry numbers. It is quite structured with pretty red fruits and some garriguey complexity. The palate has good density and length with just ripe tannins driving the finish. It has good freshness and vibrancy and the wine is no one trick pony, encouraging me to keep exporing its nuances. Translation, I almost finished the bottle on a school night unaided by the cheese and kisses!!!
