The property is an old favorite, but I’ve never had this bottling. It surfaced at a reasonable price, especially considering tariffs!
The aromas are hesitant at first, then open quickly. They are slightly herbal, slightly grassy, missing the melon note I expected but still pleasant. The palate is moderately rich and features flowers, herbs and minerals… there’s actually not a lot of fruit, but everything else is balanced and in place, quite young and fresh, a good level of intensity for a moderately priced wine and everything poised for significant additional ageing. Rated 88 tonight, up to 4 points of improvement possible over the next decade. I’ve got 5 left, will wait at least a year to open another.
