TN: 2017 Benjamin Leroux Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Embazées

  • 2017 Benjamin Leroux Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Embazées - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru (1/6/2021)
Nose: The nose is fresh and balanced with pears, vanilla, apples, meyer lemons, oils, mineral tones, white flowers, limes, and saline notes. There is very good depth and with an understated expressiveness. Even having seen 8 hours of air, the nose is still a bit coiled up.

Taste: The feel is Medium bodied with crisp, medium+ acidity. There is lovely texture to the feel while showing off excellent depth with pears, meyer lemons, apples, vanilla, oils, saline, minerals, and white flowers.

Overall: Chalk up yet another win for a 17 premier cru white burg. This will certainly age and develop, but I can see it it really showing well on the earlier side in another 3+ years. (92 pts.)
