Ordered some wines from a new store and already over the free shipping, so figured I’d add some 2017 burgs to give them a go. Both showed well, and reminded me why it’s so fun to do side by side tastings.

2017 Domaine Joseph Roty Marsannay Ouzeloy - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Marsannay
Darker blackberry fruit, some very subtle oak gives it both a bit more tannin and sucrosite. Still quite drinkable now and likely better in a few years.

2017 Domaine Pierre Guillemot Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Narbantons - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru
Lighter pure raspberry fruit, more floral, but also some herbs/very light green notes from stems. Lovely now, give it a few years if you are more stem averse.
