Which (if any) of these drink well on the younger side? I've been able to buy a few bottles from a friend's allocation while I hang out on the wait list.

Your next offering from Saxum Vineyards will begin Tuesday, January 12, 2021 and end on January 25th. We will invite you (via email) to place an order online on January 12th. Our smaller production wines will be sold first come, first served and may sell out before the releases ends on the 25th.

The held offering will include our 2018 James Berry Vineyard ($98) and 2018 G2 Vineyard ($98).

The following smaller production wines will be sold first come, first served. Our 2018 Heart Stone Vineyard ($98), 2018 James Berry Vineyard White ($98), and our extended age 2017 Bone Rock ($148).

The following wines will be offered as wish request items. Our 2018 Booker Vineyard ($98), 2017 4hearts Vineyard ($98), a magnum of 2018 James Berry Vineyard 1.5 L ($196), a magnum of 2018 G2 Vineyard 1.5 L ($196), a magnum of 2018 Booker Vineyard 1.5 L ($196), and a magnum of 2017 Bone Rock 1.5 L ($296).

Your next offering from Saxum Vineyards will begin Tuesday, January 26, 2021 and end on February 9th. We will invite you (via email) to place an order online on January 26th. You should have ample time to place an order but some wines may sell out before the release ends on February 9th.

The offering will include our 2018 James Berry Vineyard ($98) and 2018 G2 Vineyard ($98).

Just made the list after the main offering last summer, so I will take what I can get.

I am on the Jan 12th release. Always stoked for Saxum! And 2018 looks to be in the same league as 2016 in Paso, which is exciting.

Interesting… I got the other e-mail with the listing wines that would be offered on Jan. 12. I've been buying for many years though I don't always take all that I'm offered.

And… Heartstone is usually approachable young.

I’m thinking about getting a few of the JBV or a few of the G2. Any favorite or comparison? Hard to decide.

Signed up in January 2014, so 6.5 years until my first offer. You may still make the cut. If there’s any wine left in February there may be those on the cusp. At least that’s how it worked out for me.

There are tasting notes and drinking windows on all of these on the website. Looks like G2 is the early drinker and described by JD as “nearly perfect”.

I will likely not take my whole allocation. If anyone wants to split let me know. Since I will deliver to Domaine might be easier to find someone who stores there.

Took my full allocation. My first was back in August 2019 and I’ve moved my way up to second wave.

Hmm… My guaranteed allocation only amounted to 14 bottles: 6 JBV, 2 each of G2, Booker, Heartstone and the white. I wished for more of all of them, but I've haven't got a wish granted in a long time. Passed on the magnums. Everything was available just now.

Mine starts on the 26th, after y’all’s is over (this is my second release with Saxum after a long wait), and I will only be offered the James Berry and the G2.

As much as I love this wine, I can't take my full allotment. I have no room in my cellar to store it. I still took two each of everything, but no 1.5s this go around.

Just wondering what a full allocation is now. I have been buying since 2006 and my offering usually runs between 12 and 18 bottles. I usually don't take everything
especially since they introduced their $148 tier of wines, but I always buy at least a case. Not sure if I get lesser allocation because I don't always take 100%. As I mentioned in post #29, I was allocated 14 bottles this time.

Also, I wonder how often people get wish list wines? The last time I got anything from wishing was in 2016.

I was allocated 16 bottles of the 750mLs: 4 JBV and 2 of everything else.

I hope that is not the case, I was only allocated 2 JBV's and also wished for several Booker.

I went back and forth on this release, thinking I do not need anymore $98 wines in my cellar, then I had a ‘15 Broken Stones and decided that yes, I in fact do.

I not in a good position to put these in the cellar for a long time.
I am conflicted, do I buy and open early, buy something at auction with some age on it for not much more than the offer price, or just accept I will never drink even one Saxum ever.

Read the reviews, some of Justin’s can be consumed early with a decant. Personally I think they all get better with 5+ years on them, but I’ve had some before that window and enjoyed them.

I opened this yesterday too and came to the same conclusion! Young wine and I really do think these need about 10 years but I had it in the house and gave it a good 4-5 hour decant before diving in. Great wine.

It shows up on Winebid.com occasionally, often for a very reasonable price (even with the auction markup). Look for some 2013 and 2014 bottles.
