Light translucent ruby color. Nose of effortless, enveloping violets combined with sharp raspberry, plum petals, and fecund soil. Layers of pleasantly nubby but lush raspberry fruit anchored in iron and stony soil on the satin-textured palate. Still-bright acidity and firm but filed off tannin. Long finish of stony cherry, iron granules, and briar. A wine of unexpected hedonism amidst its complexity. (93 pts.)
