I've got a purchase lined up, sort of, in that I am purchasing some aged BDX from a friend. But I'm trying hard to reduce my inventory, so I'm hoping I can hold out until April.

I tend to set my alarms up at my tipping point so they generally end up being automatic purchases unless shipping is absurd....and they have been coming in fast and furious already this year

January 6 was a long day for reasons (obviously) that had nothing to do with wine. It also turned out to be the day I couldn’t resist a(nother) bottle of 2019 Prum Wehlener Sonnenuhr Kabinett when Flatiron came knocking.

Interesting challenge. Managed past the first week of 2021 but not without many temptations. I feel that I need a cellar reduction but am not really realistically hoping to manage anything more than +-0 result this year, even that would be a big achievement as I don’t think I have gone below a 100 bottle cellar increase per year since I started collecting. Problem is I haven’t really bought with a plan for cellaring in many cases, just buying what I fancied.

Well...I did buy at the local grocery store all they had 2017/16 Remoissenet Père et Fils Bourgogne Blanc for $14. But thats cooking wine...they don't count!

I just ordered a few bottles of '16 Barolo I hadn't seen previously.

I got on a roll & bought a lot in December (& November actually) which showed up over the past few weeks which I'm still trying to find homes for, so I don't really have space. This stupid 'hobby'.

Thanks! I like to consider myself pretty well versed in the names of wineries popular on this board, even when I don't buy from them, but I couldn't get there.

I do feel that the constant use of acronyms and abbreviations, which seems to be getting more and more common, may save the writer time, but can frustrate the reader, especially those who are here to learn. But to be fair, I also prefer proper use of capitals and think the word "you" should always be spelled with 3 letters, not one. Seems to be a losing battle.

100%. Everytime I see PYCM or BAMA or virtually anything other than SQN I have to look it up. Though I think I am guilty of LdH usage... hypocrisy knows no bounds I guess.

I actually agree. I’m usually the one to tell others to expand their acronyms upon first use. I guess I considered it a hot topic that everyone had noticed looking at the board.
