Embrace your cellar diversity

Every so often, I like to go through the exercise of viewing my cellar in terms of the percentage of wines from various countries. It slowly morphs over time and I find it an interesting perspective to stay on top of. Anyone care to share? Here is mine:

France: 37.8%
USA 28.6%
Italy: 24.1%
Spain: 2.9%
Argentina: 2.3%
Portugal: 1.6%
Germany: 1.3%
Chile: .8%
Austria: .4%
Australia: .3%

USA - 56.8%
France - 29.8%
Italy - 9.5%
Spain - 1.8%
Austria - 0.7%
Australia - 0.4%
Germany - 0.4%
Portugal - 0.4%
United Kingdom - 0.4%

I have a LOT of Oregon Pinot.

Haven’t looked at this on CT in a while. It is interesting to see trends over time as I go in and out of minor obsessions with certain regions.

France - 62.3%
Spain - 18.0%
USA - 12.0%
Italy - 4.2%
Australia - 2.4%
Germany - 0.6%
Portugal - 0.6%

France - 39%
USA - 26%
Italy - 28%
Germany- 7%

No idea. I’d guess 75% French and the rest divided between Italy/US/Spain (Rioja) in that order.

France 50.3%
Italy 26.5%
USA 13.5%
Germany 9.7%

Got me curious about consumption vs cellar, so this is my 2020 consumption.

France 35.6%
Germany 33.9%
Italy 17.0%
USA 13.5%

Been buying lots of German wine and drinking it!

German 57.6%
USA 30.8%
France 7.7%
Italy 3.8%

Seems about right.

Good lord man! Your CT handle is accurate!

South Africa 0.2%
Argentina 0.1%
Chile 0.1%
Hungary 0.1%
Portugal 0.1%

French 33%

I was surprised that France was number one, but then I remembered Champagne! I need to buy more German wines.

Had a big Barolo buying spree which has skewed Italy a bit but no surprise that is the leader. Just getting into Riesling so I expect Germany will be climbing the ranks very quickly
