Once you make the list can you stay on by just purchasing Chard?

It's worked for me so far. They will stop offering pinots if you don't order them, though.

Most of the Chardonnays are offered in the spring, but the Hudson (and the new Park Avenue ?), as well as the appellation Chards, are offered in the fall. If you continue to buy just the Chards, you should get allocations at both times, and you may be offered some Pinot. I may buy a bottle or two of Pinot to fill out a case, but focus on the Chards.

fwiw, January 12th release is 6 bottle minimum purchase. 2-4 bottles initially. Subject to change as the release progresses

I'm new to the list this year and will buy but I'm trying to determine how big of an investment I'm willing to make. I've only had two younger vintages and while I enjoyed them, these are pricey wines.

For those of you with years of experience with the wines, what would you recommend drinking? I have an opportunity tonight to drink either 2013 Lauren or one of 07/08/10 Ritchie. Just for a little context I'm an old world drinker.

I'm aware they no longer make the Ritchie vineyard wine but I would think drinking one would still be a productive exercise to see how the wines evolve.

Thanks in advance

I don't have personal experience with any of these wines, but Lisa Perrotti-Brown (Wine Advocate) just released a review of the '07 Ritchie (from magnum from the winery's cellar) yesterday and she really loved it (97 pts) and estimates it will drink well until 2026.

I'd try any of the Ritchies tonight. The '13 Lauren should be great, but, to me, it's just entering its prime drinking window. The older wines will give you much more insight into how the wines age and develop.

Got access earlier this morning and purchased my allocation of 37 bottles in total. Will see how much of my wishes I get.

Curious on other allocations. How much did you guys get allocated?

First time on the list, previously got table scraps. Hoping I get a full allocation. No allocation showing early. Waiting, impatiently

I was on this list extremely early (back in college) and let it lapse (very big mistake). Now I am back on and am hoping to pick up some tale scraps and move my way back up the list. It's always fun on these days.

I logged on and order 13 of 18 bottles. I know an odd number, 2 of all, plus the 1 Sugar Shack.
This one hurt the CC some. All would have been great, but I made some big purchases and have to save a $$ for Realm.

wow, this is incredible, usually when the allocations open, there are plenty left for at least a couple days. I didn't think to try login early until now and only able to grab 1 bottle each of Lauren and Sugar Shack.

Is 2019 production less than the past years? Maybe I am just late to the party.

They increased my allocation this cycle, which means today is a painful day for my wallet. In for 10 bottles. Sigh maybe I should have made it an even case.

I was disappointed to be allocated only one Lauren. It's the one I've ordered consistently since I've been on the list (earliest was 2007) because I like it the best.

I definitely wasn't ready to purchase 6 bottles this morning, but given the love the wines receive on here, I went for it.

I think I was allocated 2 Lauren's as well. I bought one of each bottle that was available except one. I was somewhat surprised the size of the allocation. I think I was allocated 24 bottles. I only ordered 6. I ordered one of each to get a feel for more of their wines. It sounds like I should have ordered 2 Lauren's.

These definitely hurt the bank account. For those of you that can purchase 20+ bottles if you need a new friend who is a really nice guy shoot me a PM :).

I didn't count exactly, but it was somewhere around 24 bottles. All Chard. I am "new" to the list. I was on in the past and let it lapse and rejoined so it may be a bit different than being brand new, but likely not. Can't wait to get some offers for some Pinot.

6 bottle min. for the 2nd tier. With 7 SVs it will be hard to keep to that.

If memory serves, Pinots will be offered later in the year (summer). I don't think there were any with this release.

You'll get Pinots. I got some off of the waitlist last year, and I don't think their Pinots are as popular as their Chards.

I have a limited budget and space, so went for 1 of each of the 7 offered, which is up from last year, when I waited for the 3 bottle leftover offer, lol!

Really disappointed in Aubert. Didn't receive my "save the date email" a couple of weeks ago, after receiving and purchasing twice last year, so I gave them a call. They looked up my account and said I definitely would be receiving an offer this last Tuesday. It came and went with no offer. I called again, but no answer so I left a message. No response so I called again with no response. So I guess they are off my annual purchase list. Very disappointing.

That is surprising. I have always found their customer service to be nothing short of outstanding. Have you tried emailing them? That is usually how I communicate with them. Just the info@ email address works well.

I agree -- in the short time I'm been buying from them, their customer services has been completely outstanding -- at least as good as the wine itself.

I received my first allocation last fall with an opportunity to buy some of the appellation chard. I enjoyed one but I’m not at the place in my wine journey where it makes sense to me to pay ~$100 a bottle for chard, with a six bottle minimum. I just don’t get as much enjoyment (or see the same level of differentiation) as I do with a great bottle of red vs a good one.
