TN: Chateau Carbonnieux Blanc 2014 (Short Boring)

We had this bottle with Korean bonchon and it paired really well. We served this from a 45 deg F fridge. This is 75% Sauv Blanc and 25% semillon.

The wine was a light, straw/hay color with a hint of green. The nose was very pretty, with floral and apple-like notes. The palate seemed very sharp and mineral-like, with quite a bit of acid/lemon-like zest that really cut through the sweet and fatty meal we had. I didn’t get any bell-pepper notes often ascribed to Sauvignon blanc.

We have a case of this, and I look forward to seeing how it evolves over time. At 30 dollars, this was worth it.

Yes, I started with the 2017 and will be a buyer of a case moving forward. It’s a lovely drop.

What’s crazy is that Rudy K was faking 40’s era of this.

They do keep, but are not to my taste at all.
