TN: 2018 Jean-Paul & Benoit Droin Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons

  • 2018 Jean-Paul & Benoit Droin Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons - France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru (11/20/2020)
Decanted before serving due to its youth. Lots of acid. Citrus, lemon peel, lanolin, mineral. Outstanding with crab cakes. So many years of life ahead of it, if it just doesn’t pre-mox! (91 pts.)

I didn’t have any premox issues after 2010 with Droin. I think they are using diam from 2012 and these 12’s are still tasting very young. For me these are really good Chablis (just under the level of Raveneau/Dauvissat) and with the diam I have confidence they will last long, at least they have the balance and structure to last so count me as a fan!

Great info. Thanks!
