2011 Ganevat Côtes du Jura Les Chalasses Marnes Bleues

This is showing some really nice development. The nose is still fresh and lively, but full of orchard fruits, roasted nuts and butterscotch. The palate is rounded and nutty, accompanied by the wilder orchard fruit profile that I associate with savagnin. Still plenty of acid and minerality despite the more developed flavors, and an underlying salty, chalky backbone. Drinking well now but I think this can likely keep aging.

2015 Ganevat Côtes du Jura Les Grands Teppes Vieilles Vignes
This is an absolute beast of a wine. Opens a bit spritzy and mousy, plenty of natural funk, but much of this blows off. This is the epitome of the Ganevat ouillé wines - leesy, salty, some lactic tang. Plenty of intense citrus and screaming acidity. Tons of dry extract and minerality throughout the body of the wine. This is incredibly acidic and powerful at the moment – really this needs some years to settle down, but the potential is enormous.

2005 Ganevat Côtes du Jura La Cuvée du Pépé
A relatively new cuvée in the Ganevat stable, this is chardonnay aged sous voile for 13 years. This was actually released after the 2008 version, which aged for a shorter time.

This is absolutely phenomenal. One of those wines that is hard to describe. Such a wonderful, complete example of the sous vouile style, despite it being atypically made from chardonnay. Notes of sherry, roasted nuts and golden fruits are all matched with freshness and minerality on the palate. Powerful and persistent on the palate, but the wine remains effortless and light on its feet. This will no doubt age at a glacial pace but it is astounding today.
