TN: 1995 Selbach-Oster Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Beerenauslese

  • 1995 Selbach-Oster Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Beerenauslese - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (11/15/2020)
A 1995 Selbach-Oster kickstarted my fascination with German Riesling. This bottle of beerenauslese is a most worthy successor. It’s pretty much an ideal BA, merging honey, spice and ripe peachy fruit all backed up by ripping acidity that ensures a decidedly sweet wine never feels sugary. Each sip compels the next, and before barely any time has elapsed the bottle is empty. Luscious and invigorating at the same time.

Thanks for the fine note David. Sounds pretty terrific. IMHO, there are few things in the vinous world more enjoyable than a well made Middle Mosel BA. Thanks again,

Todd

Well made Middle Mosel Eiswein?

David,

How was the color?

Thanks for the note.

Light bronze.

Sounds lovely. But I thought you didn’t like BA?

BA I like. Not a big fan of TBA.

Yes, I guess that would be one of the few things. [thumbs-up.gif]

How did you know I just acquired some of this, David?

I felt a botrytized disturbance in the force.

Ha!
