Reinhold Haart Ohligsberg Spätlese 2013

Had this wine last night. I never see 2013 listed as a particularly good vintage in Germany, but this wine was spectacular. Rich and honeyed but with a good acid spine this was just a joy to drink. Great producer who never seems to get the recognition he deserves.

It was a vintage with some unripe/greenish/tart acidity and sometimes even this type of aromas. But, as always, the best producers saved it.

The 2013s I purchased were from Reinhold Haart, Zilliken, Schloss Lieser and Gunderloch. Maybe that is why I have not seen wines marked by “unripe/greenish/tart acidity and sometimes even this type of aromas”
