TN: ‘18 Becheur Mourvedre

$14.83 / all in for a sixer. PnP right off the truck. Count me as a believer. Old vine goodness by a skilled hand. Lovely ruby, root beer/ raspberry nose with fresh turned earth, no discernible vanillin or heat. Rich mouthfeel but not heavy with a lingering finish. Mild soft tannins, eminently drinkable. 92 points and has to be one of the best qpr wines of my career.

Wow, thanks very much for the note. Have a 6-pack en route. Is this basically good to go, or best to wait if possible? Decant advisable?

Didnt give mine any special treatment and it is quite enjoyable. Might age but why bother- its not Bandol.

Thanks for the note. Looking forwarded to their arrival.

Any Bandol producers you recommend? I enjoy Mourvèdre but haven’t tried any of the old world producers

Just purchased a 6 pack of this though - hard not to at that pricing. Thanks to the OP for the original note.

Tempier if you can find some with age. Pibarnon at a slightly lower price point. Lots of great old vine Mataro from Spain as well, lots of bargains there.
