- 2014 Kutch Pinot Noir Bohan Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (10/17/2020)
Needs a minimum of 45 minute decant but really begins to open at 90 minutes. Wonderfully aromatic bouquet of lilacs and raspberries on the nose resolves into a smooth mouthfeel of still youthful soft blueberries, apple, and strawberry. The finish lingers lovingly with a savory balance of these fruits. An underrated aspect of “aged” Kutch Pinots is they display greater depth when paired with food. Snacking on brie before moving to a medium rare rib-eye and baked sweet potato turned a fine wine into a truly pleasurable experience. At 6 years, this wine has many years of life in it with a savory balance of strawberries, soft blueberries resolving into a lengthy enjoyable finish. (93 pts.)
