2018 La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou

So I found this at one of my favorite places in NJ for a great price.

A month ago I brought a 2012 of this to a wine dinner.
It turned out to be the WOTN after it opened.
I know that 2018 Bordeaux is a Great vintage so I grabbed only 2 of the 4 that were there.
The reviews sound great and I saw that Jeff Leve gave it a 93.

Maybe I’ll grab the other 2 as well.

The 12 was pretty Amazing when it opened up.

While I was there I grabbed another bottle of Chateau Larrivet Haut Brion 2010
as well as a Ghost Block Cab Reserve 2017

All at 49.99

Yum!

The 2016 was wonderful and I wish I had bought a few more from Costco when they had them.

What was your Costco selling them at?

$46. I bought 2. I should have bought 6.

A friend said it’s like drinking the main wine without the cost.

2012 wasn’t That great a year in Bordeaux…but the aroma and flavor that emanated from that bottle was Superb!

I think 53.30 including tax is a steal for this wine.
When I got the 12’s 3 or 4 years ago, it was 49.99 and with a discount at TW… less.

The only 2nd wine that I had that was better was 2010 La Dame de Montrose.

Why can’t my Costco get some La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou in?

Is it true that Ducru-Beaucaillou has a seperate vineyard for their 2nd wine Croix?
Anyone?

Jeff Leve probably knows.
:grinning:

Yes.
2nd label just by name imo. It can stand on its own.

What is Cuvée Colbert? Jeff’s site says it’s the same wine, but with a “different” aging process. Anyone know specifics?

I can’t wait to try this 2018.
A 3 hr decant should be adequate.
The 12 was great and Jeff gave it an 88.
The last couple vintages…92’s

2018…a 93

I bought another one so i have 3.

Soon!
