TN: 2012 Saxum James Berry Vineyard (USA, California, Central Coast, Paso Robles)

  • 2012 Saxum James Berry Vineyard - USA, California, Central Coast, Paso Robles (10/14/2020)
15% abv. Dark ruby, extremely penetrating aromatics. On the palate, ripe plum, mint, asian spice, black olive and white pepper. Extreme focus, concentration, depth, power and length. The layered fruit is exceptionally intense, but this wine somehow manages to avoid being ponderous or heavy. When you catch a Saxum JB at the right time (which I did) - enjoy the great ride! Tastes young and vibrant, will probably hold in a spectacular plateau for years to come. (98 pts.)

Great note Mike D. Having this en magnum today and it’s slaying us all.

Glug-glug.

Yeah! Glad you’re enjoying this Glenn. Justin does have that alchemist touch for turning Grenache into electricity!

Have the ‘14 of this, so trying to hold off for another 2+ years. Sounds like the wait will be worth it.

I was going to post this on the Saxum FB page but I think it’s closed off the visitors.
