TN: 2000 Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe Châteauneuf-du-Pape La Crau

Posted from CellarTracker

The 1998 was one of my favorite wines of all time.

I still have one bottle of the 1998…somewhere.

David,

That’s a perfect description.
All I have left from the 2000 CdP vintage is one bottle of Charvin. Regarding older VT’s, I still have a few '98s and '01s. I don’t open these often, but when they’re on, they can be special.

Cheers,
Warren

Charvin’s CdP from 1998 to 2001 are solid. Still scrimping in storage, on a a bottle or 2 from each vintage.

Also, 1998 Vieux Telegraphe La Crau = Special.

One 2001 Charvin left downstairs.

Myyyyy…preciousssssssss

Grab it! Just had it tonight. It’s exceptional. I need to track down more, ‘‘twas my last.

I still think this is the best CDP vintage in 20+ years.

Had a 2000 Mon Aieul yesterday. It was killing, barnyard nose, dense red fruit brambles, everything I associate with aged grenache. I think 2000 is in a near perfect place in CdP.
