No prior experience with this producer but apparently they are one of the most notable names in Côte Chalonnaise. I’ve enjoyed Aligoté from the likes of De Moor and Roulot and my early take is that 2017 seems like an attractive vintage in Burgundy so I bought this bottle without much hesitation. Glad I did, the value is definitely there and it was just very enjoyable from the get-go. I guess I need to try their Chardonnays next.

2017 Paul et Marie Jacqueson Aligoté Bouzeron Les Corderes - France, Burgundy, Côte Chalonnaise, Bouzeron (2.10.2020)
Delightfully fresh and crisp on the nose with green apple, strawberry yoghurt, iodine and a thyme-like herbal note. Surprisingly mouthfilling and textured on the palate with high intensity and very solid acidity. The fruit is on the neutral and restrained side and the general feel is savory and stony with an attractive minerally twang. The intensity only picks up towards the finish which is quite tight and grippy. Overall this comes off as a pretty serious wine that perhaps could do quite well in the cellar. Not a crowd-pleaser by any means but I find the style pretty cool and there is no question about the high quality and the sheer drinkability.
