- 2016 J & HA Strub Niersteiner Hipping Riesling Spätlese "Flachenhahl" - Germany, Rheinhessen (9/11/2020)
Striking levels of fruit and acidity in this wine. It was really quite electric, and impressed both geek (me) and non-geek (everyone else). Still very early in its evolution, there was not any evidence that it wasn't a newly released wine. With the potent peach and pineapple fruit, and firm underlying acids, this could profitably evolve for a couple of decades. That being said there is no way I am letting it age that long. It's too lip smacking good now!
