Not reading the thread, but in case no one has previously posted the exact date, I am pleased to announce that in honor of the fact that I might have been the second person on the MacDonald list (Dentice was first but we were only minutes apart), this year the offer will be released on my auspicious 69th Birthday, September 15.

I’ll pull a cork or two anyone wants to visit SW OR.
Glenn,
I suspect your house has smoke taint. I hope you three are okay down there.
WA state just warned that the winds shifted and a dense cloud is heading our way tomorrow. There goes my mountain biking plans for the weekend.
Stay safe,
Warren

I definitely applaud Alex and Graeme for standing up against Constellation and hope that Constellation doesn’t actually succeed in getting the historical landmark of To Kalon “erased” since it would be a big blow to all of the Napa Valley vintners that made To Kalon vineyard the sense of place that it has today.
Imagine them bottling a “highest beauty” Malbec from Argentina and labeling it as To Kalon...

Anything we can do to help Alex & Graeme in this effort against Constellation, I am in for it !
Thoughts ?
Sell me all of your MACDONALD at cost. I will drink it all, fall in love, and join the cause fighting Constellation.
Ha, thanks Joe. I was just about to ask if there was anything crucial in it, because my snail mail copy went to my address on file, which I am not currently at.
Glenn,
WOW !!!
Please stay safe.
You have my concerns !
AQI Basics

What is the U.S. Air Quality Index (AQI)?
The U.S. AQI is EPA’s index for reporting air quality.
How does the AQI work?
Think of the AQI as a yardstick that runs from 0 to 500. The higher the AQI value, the greater the level of air pollution and the greater the health concern. For example, an AQI value of 50 or below represents good air quality, while an AQI value over 300 represents hazardous air quality.
For each pollutant an AQI value of 100 generally corresponds to an ambient air concentration that equals the level of the short-term national ambient air quality standard for protection of public health. AQI values at or below 100 are generally thought of as satisfactory. When AQI values are above 100, air quality is unhealthy: at first for certain sensitive groups of people, then for everyone as AQI values get higher.
The AQI is divided into six categories. Each category corresponds to a different level of health concern. Each category also has a specific color. The color makes it easy for people to quickly determine whether air quality is reaching unhealthy levels in their communities.
AQI Basics for Ozone and Particle Pollution
Daily AQI Color Levels of Concern Values of Index Description of Air Quality
Green Good 0 to 50 Air quality is satisfactory, and air pollution poses little or no risk.
Yellow Moderate 51 to 100 Air quality is acceptable. However, there may be a risk for some people, particularly those who are unusually sensitive to air pollution.
Orange Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups 101 to 150 Members of sensitive groups may experience health effects. The general public is less likely to be affected.
Red Unhealthy 151 to 200 Some members of the general public may experience health effects; members of sensitive groups may experience more serious health effects.
Purple Very Unhealthy 201 to 300 Health alert: The risk of health effects is increased for everyone.
Maroon Hazardous 301 and higher Health warning of emergency conditions: everyone is more likely to be affected.
Five major pollutants
EPA establishes an AQI for five major air pollutants regulated by the Clean Air Act. Each of these pollutants has a national air quality standard set by EPA to protect public health:
ground-level ozone
particle pollution (also known as particulate matter, including PM2.5 and PM10)
carbon monoxide
sulfur dioxide
nitrogen dioxide

The Bedrock Wine Conversations podcast released a new episode 3 days ago, this time featuring Graeme MacDonald. Wonderful chat and highly enjoyable for anyone interested in MacDonald or the history of To-Kalon... even if you’ve heard it before, it’s worth a listen.

Thank you so much for sharing this info...I enjoy learning anything I can about the To Kalon vineyard/area. I was very lucky earlier this year to chat via email and phone with Tom Garrett, owner of Detert. What a gracious man. He was kind enough to sell me some of his wine from his library and put me on their list which led me to receive an offer of their "reserve" bottling this fall. It's my plan this next fall to visit both Detert and MacDonald. Does anyone know, can you buy a bottle of MacDonald on site? I'm on the wait list but suspect it will be years before I get an offer.

They do not (and I believe cannot) sell their wine on property. There is no formal tasting room

Just put my name on the mailing list. I take this is a long process!
I just signed up my first grandchild, hope it’s a he and is named Michael too. Maybe he will make the list in 2055 now that I’ve signed him up! Maybe I should sign up a granddaughter just in case.
This wine has really taken up a spot in my soul. This wine, William and Mary, Rivers Marie, and Roy Piper are my Berserker finds!
I need to get more time with Mending Wall wines, too.
I am thrilled these wines can exist. We are supporting true hand made artisanal wine making, still!

What is man, when you come to think upon him, but a minutely set, ingenious machine for turning, with infinite artfulness, the fine red wine of Shiraz into urine?

I concur although I am unfamiliar with William & Mary.
You should know about William & Mary - Will Segui's project. His wines are fantastic. The proprietary blend is unreal. I got to sample the 2018 from barrel in Feb and it mind blowing

In addition to his wines being excellent, Will is a stand up guy and one of the best people to know in Valley.
