Picked up a couple of older Cayuse near release price, two Kracher TBA, and an SQN Mr. K. Basically some interesting options at or below market that I’ve never had.

Their prices even with the sale aren’t that great. With some patience, I usually get better deals on Winebid.

Haven’t bought from them in a while, their prices are no longer overly competitive even with the bin sales. Back a few years ago, their pricing was much better (for me, not them) and found many a great deal. Great customer service though!

I think their prices are often good, especially with imperfect labels. I always try to go for those because they’re usually almost flawless but like 30% less.

It wasn't in the bin sale, but the 2004 Cristal for $225 was a good price.

More love here for '04 Taittinger CdC. But I'll add '04 Vilmart CdC as another standout '04 in my book.

pricing is all over the place at benchmark. usually thinly traded wines tend to be underpriced. glanced at this sale though and didn't find much to get excited about and even saw a few wines in the sale bin that were not marked down at all from the original price. i also agree they tend to offer attractive discounts on bottles with label issues.

i didnt have any issue combining mine with holds?

the email did say that you couldnt combine it with other coupons and offers but i was still able to choose "hold and consolidate" at checkout.

Grabbed a '17 Il Carnasciale for $55 just because I'm curious, still thinking about a Bethel Heights flat block '17 for $45.

also noticed that they have reduced the price of Hiyu Arco Iris to $75, though I didn't actually see it in the $75 bin as I looked through.

I would call them. I don’t think they enforce it. I bought off their “didn’t sell at auction” offer last week, and I was invited by email when discussing shipping to order more and consolidate for shipping later this fall.

There's an option Hold & Consolidate when checking out. It will combine with your previous orders. I have been doing this for years.

agreed it does seem like a strange thing to list when they are not enforcing it and dont have a history of enforcing it. plus it makes it harder on them logistically i feel like.

I have definitely combined shipping before, I expect this is standard disclaimer language in case you wanted something ASAP.

I think the value in these sales has definitely decreased post-tariff, but I did pick up a couple of things that I thought were pretty underpriced.

I always consolidate, no issues. They send me a couple cases fall and spring, no issues, except I had one “cold chain” shipment that wasn’t temp controlled on the last leg; I think the wine was fine, but a little irritating.

How long will they hold wine before pushing buyers to ship or pick up? I thought it was only 30 days there, which in my feel is a condition out of sync with the industry.

I just picked up some 2014 Domaine de Trevallon @$55 which didn't seem bad.

Also for any of you looking for any back vintages from Roy Piper, there's 1 2011 @$100 and a few 2014's @$125 - those seem like decent prices.

It's only 30 days when whether permits shipping. Otherwise, they'll hold until it cools down. In fact, they'll advise you to not ship or sign a waiver if it's even in the high 70s or so.

My overall feeling about Bachelet, albeit not based on comprehensive experience but a decent number of bottles over the years, including the Charmes-Chamb, is the domaine is very good and has good typicity but I’ve never been wowed. Same boat?

Yeah, I’ve never quite understood the hype. They’re good, but at that price, tough to justify.

The ones that were and still are left for $75 are the Cote de Nuits, not the Gevrey VV.

I had the 17 Gevrey VV last week; it was a nice wine, though I found it fairly one dimensional (others liked it more than I did).
I’m a fan; I think it’s more about purity of fruit but I can see how some people may find it glossy?

I don’t find it glossy, I mostly find it not interesting enough for the money. It’s clearly good wine.

Interesting. I love it for pure fruit and gevrey typicity. Not sure what else you’d expect from a village wine. What would you prefer instead?

I saw the Cotes de Nuits for 75, but not the Gevrey VV; did they discount both to 75?
Yes. 3 left right now for Bachelet. I found the '17 Bachelet Gevrey VV to be singing right now. Loved the purity of the wine.

The Gevrey VV is gone. Definitely $75 on my receipt.

But it was there when Greg posted. 16 CdN and 17 GC VV were both $75. 17 CdN was $55.

How long will they hold wine before pushing buyers to ship or pick up? I thought it was only 30 days there, which in my feel is a condition out of sync with the industry.
the 30 days is only during shipping season. for example, if you buy in June they don't start counting the 30 days until shipping weather rolls back around.

Interesting. I checked when posting both times and it didn’t show up for me.
