TN: 2012 St. Clement Cabernet Sauvignon Oroppas (USA, California, Napa Valley)

  • 2012 St. Clement Cabernet Sauvignon Oroppas - USA, California, Napa Valley (9/1/2020)
Day 1: A bit tight. No score.
Day 2: Hello and thanks for waiting. Chocolate, blueberries, spice, oak, vanilla and underbrush. Big wine and powerful finish. Picks up some floral notes on the long finish. Plenty of life left here. 93 points
Day 3: Holding form. For sure some evident oak but the fruit is the real star here. 93 points.
Recommendation: Heavy decant or hold for a few years. (93 pts.)

Used to buy these back in the day; don’t see them around any more. Of course it is Sapporo spelled backwards after the beer outfit bought them.

Had a 10’ over the weekend. Thought it was drinking fairly well, could have went another couple of years.
