TN: A brace of 2016 White Burgs

2016 Thibault Liger-Belair Bourgogne Blanc Les Charmes - France, Burgundy, Bourgogne Blanc (8/23/2020)
Good body and weight for an AOC level. A bit reductive and oaky right now. Decent minerality, medium minus to low acidity. Has a buttery texture more like a New World style bombastic Chard than a Burg, which I'm not sure will resolve with time. Jury's out right now will try another bottle next year. (87 pts.)

2016 Domaine Vincent and Sophie Morey Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru (8/23/2020)
Nose is light, but has a warmth with a touch of lemon and crushed sea shells. Good viscosity, coats the palate nicely with under ripe stone fruits and lime peel on a solid backbone of acidity. Finish satisfies with a burst of minerality, but doesn't linger. (91 pts.)
