Any intel on WA Echoes in the Canyon cab? I’ve got one in my cart, just wondering if anyone has tried it. Thanks!

Still haven't heard back from WA on the email I sent last Thursday evening. 4 business days to respond? Seems a bit ridiculous.

That is worrisome, usually it's 48 hours max. Have you tried calling them?

No, haven't tried calling. Just sent them another follow-up and if I don't hear back by Friday afternoon, I'll plan on giving them a call.

It took 11 days for me to get a response (wrote Sept. 14, reply received Sept. 25). They did apologize. As I said before, I think the combination of the Amex offers plus their new ad in the latest Wine Spectator brought them more business than they were prepared for. I will say they did take care of my concerns, though it took a while!

I waited 8 days and sent a couple follow up emails, ended up calling yesterday. Call was answered right away and they resolved the issue quickly. I’d suggest calling, only took 5 mins.

Last month I got a shipment of cooked sparklings...contacted them on the 2nd and it took them a week to get back to me. Took them a while to answer my email but once they did, things went smoothly and quickly to make it right.

Try calling WineAccess. They were not getting back to my emails, but they quickly addressed my issues via telephone.

Does anyone know how long it takes for the referral discount to hit after a referral makes a first purchase?

Mine has been instant unless their system thought it was a self referral.

Really just one per household. Ethically or legally. Otherwise it really just defeats the purpose. But they aren't going to sue you.

Got bored and drank 3 Stay Homes this week. Ordered 5 more along with 2018 Editorial. This is some good wine for $20 and is growing on me,I think its the price lol. Still young but really like drinking it the 2nd day. Not as fruity and a little bit smoother.
Hey @Matthew How do you rate these wine access wines against Negoce? I have 50-60 bottles coming soon of 8 different flavors. Mostly Cabs...

I've only had #2 and #3 de Negoce despite 35 on order. I liked both Negoce's better than Stay Home but I also thought Stay Home was good. It's not fair to compare cause #2 and #3 same producer and vineyard so no clue how other 35 will taste.

The "new customer" discount in the banner came off my purchase even though I am a repeat customer. I didn't do anything to "claim" it, but still feel a little sheepish about it.

Anyway, with free shipping I got a bottle of the 2006 Billecart Salmon Nicolas François for $95 (+$5,70 tax) landed. If they keep offering the deal, I'll keep biting. Love this cuvèe

Had another bottle of the Yesterday tonight. Not sure if this one is just off, but didn't like it nearly as much as the previous, which I absolutely LOVED. It's still good, but definitely doesn't leave the same impression as the last bottle did.

Same, I thought it was a completely different wine. The note I had for the first bottle was nothing like the second bottle. Very high quality still. Very strange.

I have over $300 of wine in my cart (pre-tax) and a $100 off $300+ promo, but I don't see the promo reflected in my total. Is there something I need to do to activate the promo that I'm missing?

Is it limited time wines? The limited time ones are not 10% off.

Their site has a hard time dealing with multiple active promos. For instance, I can't get my referral credits to work anymore on non-limited time offers because the 10% off default promo is taking precedence.

Just tried and had no issues; the discount reflects before credits are applied. Maybe click the link to the offer from the home page?

To be clear, you used credits (aka free money) and not promos? Because I can't get the latter to work at all.

Site is dead to me until the 10% promo goes away, which is a shame.

Popped my first of three bottles of Yesterday tonight after an hour decant. Nice wine. I like it. Good value at the ~$25 I paid after discounts.
The notion that this is super culty, $500+ etc etc is ridiculous. First and likely last white label/NDA/shiner type bottle I bite on.

Haha, I did buy it based on your recommendation. I have about 7 cases of De Negoce coming next week or two, that I think are, at least in part, attributable to your recommendation. I pray they are as good as this is.

The funniest thing is I really am not someone who should be counted on for wine tasting/reviews. But I am glad you liked it. I was really impressed with it, especially at that price point.

I have 0 concerns the de Negoce's won't be good. Really. We have seen enough reviews at this point that it's the real deal.

I think 2018 Editorial is good for the price, but to my taste it seems a bit manipulated in a style that I don't particularly enjoy. However, I think it's a crowd pleaser and I ended up buying more for when guests come over.

I haven't opened my Yesterday yet. Given the recent mixed reviews, I'm not sure if I should try it or not yet.

I think the lower reviews are from people who are doing PnP on these bottles. These probably need a few years, as several reviews have said day 2 and day 3 changes the profile dramatically.

Yah I mean all of this is ridiculous. ALL of these wines (or wines made the vineyards the grapes were sourced from) won't be released for 1-2 years by their producing vineyards. But I think Chris was referring to this thread where 2 people said YESTERDAY didn't taste as great recently.

It wasn't as great as the first time but it was still very good. I would still buy more for daily drinking.
Decant for hours, they do come around.

I drank multiple bottles back to back of the Yesterday, 2018 Editorial, and the 2016 Stay Home.
Stay Home is the weakest, performing like a good value $30-40, so it's great QPR.
Editorial is mid level, performing like a good $60-80, great QPR as well.
Yesterday is the best of the 3, performing like a good $100, another great QPR.

For folks that have tried both WineAccess and DeNegoce offerings, any comments on which have been the better value thus far?

I think gonna have to wait a month or two for that question. Very few of the dN's have been tried. Just judging dN #2 and #3, it was a far better QPR than any of the WA offerings. But that's not a great comp as both #2 and #3 came from same winery and hardly representative of the 50 reds he has offered.

Got an email last night informing me that I have a $100 credit coming for having spent $1000. I had no idea. How do these folks earn money?!? They have nothing that really interests me ATM, but that will change soon enough.

My buddy had an opened N.1 that I tried last Sunday, I thought it tasted like a $50-75 cab, and it had been open 2+ days. Not sure how much N.1 cost but it's killer.

I'd say it was better than any of the WA private label stuff but it was also much more my style, aka more restrained. Oak monster lovers won't like N.1 as much, though I don't know how it showed day 1-2.

Not to say WA stuff is bad, only Off the Cuff and 2016 Editorial I've disliked - gave my dad the remaining bottles and told him to decant them 2 hours. He likes bigger cab and loved both.

So it's a YMMV situation, like with all wine tastes.

#1 was...$10. + $2.50/bottle for shipping. I have 2 cases coming. It was marketed as $50 under winery label and in the San Fran interview he said "exact" wine as the winery. Given was 6666 cases, I'm guessing it is and is a very large production cab.

Had the 2016 Editorial last night...contrary to prior reviews I thought it drank VERY well. I’ve had 3 previous private labels (Karo Kann, Idiosyncrasy, radio silence) Only one I didn’t care for as much was Idiosyncrasy. Cheers [cheers.gif]
