This thread/comments are so funny. And thus, that's why de Negoce exists. Nobody thinks it's real.

Where do you see anyone having bought it? Can you link please?
The comment got deleted because (predictably) the person was spamming their own wineaccess referral link. Here is the deleted comment.
I will add - I bought a few of these and the shipment came today. The wine is really good. Obviously not a $500 dollar wine, but if I had blind tasted it I would guess it was in the $80 - $100 range. Easily the best of the three private label wines I have purchased from them. 2018 Off the Cuff (supposedly a $200+ dollar wine) tastes like a $40 dollar wine. 2018 Cosmologist (supposedly a $125 dollar wine) tastes like $20 dollar wine.

We opened another Cosmo today and got big time mulled cherry notes with lots of baking spices. I've never been a fan of that flavor profile, that one you prefer?

I mean this with complete sincerity: I don't know about anything about wine. I have no idea why I like it vs. not liking Off The Cuff. I cannot describe to you flavors, oak treatment, etc. I just know a wine that's decent and a wine that's crap.

It would def help me to learn what I like and don't like but given I've been drinking Cabs for nearly 20 years pretty much every day it seems that as long as it's not a cheap wine, I like it. Maybe one day I'll be able to nail it down further.

That is so fascinating. Truth is based on the clues it really can't be anything but screaming eagle. Someone on a post somewhere, I don't know where I think that youtube video, said they know where the Harlan excess goes and it aint to WineAccess.

But it really doesn't matter if it's Harlan or Screagle. Really just matters if it's shit grapes and shit wine. I really doubt it.
Highly unlikely that it is Screagle. The Yesterday blend contains 9% Petit Verdot, but Screaming Eagle hasn't had any Petit Verdot planted since 1995.

Harlan seems to be the most likely explanation.

People talking about the AMEX $50 off Wine Access offer who don't have it available. The Points Guy published an article this morning that said AMEX only makes available to you 100 offers at a time. If you add them to your card, even if you don't use them, more offers will appear. Just FYI for those of us who have not received the wine access offer. Could be worth a shot if you are that patient.

Off the Cuff to me was oaky and very four square. Nothing offensive, but also no depth or complexity. That said, it's also a 2018 so I'm just going to wait five years to try another. Again not a bad wine, just not in my wheelhouse as opposed to some of the other private labels.

I'll be curious to see if the referral for first time purchasers reverts back to the $50/150 vs the $30/150 they're offering now. I believe it said $30/150 through August 31, so curious on Sept 1 if we see a change.

Just saw Rakuten is offering 5% right now on wineaccess.com purchases, I've just seen 1.5% before so this is a bonus!

On my site (when logged in) it says refer friend and both get $50 off first purchase. Dont recall if mine ever showed the $30 for a friend.

Tried the Stay Home 2016 tonight. My favorite of the three WineAccess private labels I have tried so far. Needs a decant, but really tasty.

Going to order a few more of the Stay Home, a few of the Concept Album (want to try this one), and hopefully when I get my Yesterday (if its good), a few more of those.

Right! For $20 you can't beat it with a stick, the Stay Home (antica). Have to decant it and give it a little chill.

I got my $100 credit tonight for spending $1000 so it's a legit promotion. Used it to get a Krug 168 for $80.

My FIL also used an old code of mine and got $50 off $150 (instead of the $30/$150) on his first purchase. http://share.wineaccess.com/v/peter_73

No idea why they promote these $30/100 codes when older $50/150 ones work just fine.

Threw together all of my discounts and came out with an order I'm really looking forward to. Got a Brick and Mortar Syrah, 2 Massican Whites, an 8 Years In the Desert, Ridge Lytton Springs, Tenuta Collazzi and a few other mid-week drinkers. Came to $316 total and I'm paying $120. Thanks everyone for the ideas on the discounts and the wines!

I am not joking. I just got it - as in it got here 20-30 mins ago. I opened it, poured a bit, and then went online to order more. It has a lot of black fruit and a bit of graphite with just the right amount of oak. It's got a long finish, which is characteristic of really good wines. If I had paid $150-$200 I wouldn't be upset at all. It's not only the best of these private label wines I've tried, it's one of the better wines I've had this year, and I've had a few above the $300 mark.

Damnit Mike R, the last thing I needed was to feel deep regret over *not* buying a private label wine. Please tell me it's turned to sh*t in the last few hours, otherwise I'm gonna have to buy so much De Negoce to make up for this

Despite how awful that video was, I really believed she had cred and was not blowing it all on this wine. Her instagram post was filled with *friends* of hers buying the wine cause of her recommendation. Nice to see she wasn't blowing smoke.

I will again add the massive caveat that my palate is different from everyone else's and I don't want to overhype this wine. I certainly enjoyed the initiate taste, but who is to say I won't hate it later tonight or tomorrow?

I will again add the massive caveat that my palate is different from everyone else's and I don't want to overhype this wine. I certainly enjoyed the initiate taste, but who is to say I won't hate it later tonight or tomorrow?
So if we all hate it we get to blame you. Got it!

You don't need to give a caveat for a wine that's already sold out and nobody can buy based on your recommendation. [snort.gif]

Meanwhile this thing took *days* to sell out. They must have had 1000 cases.

Fair point! That said, I'm looking forward to some other folks getting it and posting their thoughts as well.

FWIW, the first tasting note in cellar tracker:

SFW38 likes it.
94 points

8/28/2020 Arrived today and couldn’t wait to try. Incredible wine and insane value! Super long finish, black berry and graphite, teeth staining purple. Really glad I picked up a case of this - better than the other Wine Access private bottlings (Radio Silence, Concept Album, etc).

Bottle count is up to 441.

That is not me! Glad to see someone else likes it and that my nose and palate seem to be on point (or maybe someone just stole my tasting notes).

It is almost creepy how similar they are, which makes me think that perhaps someone just stole my notes from this thread. I haven't posted to Cellar Tracker for over a year now. I also wish I got a case, but only have 6 (5 left).

I think it's super funny how this wine turned out to be the real deal despite the entire reddit community laughing in WineAccess's face and this thread being super cynical. That said, gotta give Berserkers some credit, majority of the cynics in this thread still bought it. LOL

I don’t remember anyone saying the wine was going to suck- they just didn’t believe it was a $500 bottle

To be fair to the Reddit skeptics, 4 out of 5 of these wines are just okay.

Yes, but the initial reviews seem to think this is legit $100+ bottle of "QPR" wine. Maybe not $500 but $100+. Multiple people now.

And to be fair, Screagle or Harlan won't release their 2018's for YEARS. Needs a ton of bottle aging.

Oh I totally agree. Something about this one clicked though. I've never ordered 2 cases before. To be honest, it was that YouTube shill video that made me get the 2nd case.
