Do you know if they are doing a red label barolo ? did you taste any 16’s ?

Hi Nick - I tried a bottle of the '16 Falletto earlier this week, and posted a review on Cellartracker. Just my take from one bottle, but I wasn’t impressed. I thought it was OK and I liked the aromatics, but thought it lacked elegance on the palate (funny, because that’s always what is most uniform in my view about the older Giacosa wines - textural elegance) and overall was a bit simple. Compared to other 2016 Barolo I’ve tried, it’s near the bottom of the pack for me. I also bought a bottle of '16 Rabaja that I will try in a few weeks.

I believe they are doing a red label Asili in 2016 (they’ve already released the 2017 Asili white label, so the '16 is almost certainly a red label coming out later) and I believe the Le Rocche Falletto red label will be released as well, but not sure on that. It’s hard to find much of any info out there on Giacosa these days.
