Opened to celebrate the memory of a dear friend who loved Italian wines, and Nebbiolo most of all.
Despite all rumors of Produttori wines maturing faster than they used to, or 2007 being an earlier drinking vintage, this one still needs more time. It certainly has some pleasure to give, as it is not completely closed down. There’s still quite a lot of dark fruit, and there are floral notes dancing around the edges. Just not a lot of development yet, except for the tannins calming down a bit. It’s not a forbidding drink at this point, nor is it happy that you decided to visit. Call it a weekend with the in-laws at this point.
