Milla Handley of Handley Cellars, victim of Covid

I was sad to hear of the passing of Milla Handley. I had the pleasure of working a day in the trade with her and spending a day at her Anderson Valley winery when I was ITB.

Milla was a real salt of the earth. Her wines had an elegance and balance. The link below has her pioneering story.

She will be missed.

Condolences to her family and friends.

Yes, very sad to hear. She was a pioneering vintner in many ways, as a woman winemaker and as one of the early vintners in the Deep End of Anderson Valley. Her wines were always very good but too often overlooked since they weren’t in the bold and brash style that tends to garner more attention. Condolences to her family and friends.

Oh no - I worked with her in the 1990s, representing her wines in the Midwest, and she was a terrific winemaker. So sad. RIP

What a life she built. I love the part about how she went to UC Davis because it accepted horses in her era.

Nowadays kids only care about their wifi.

Wow, very sad to hear. We visited last fall and really had a great experience and enjoyed the wines. Condolences to the Handley family.

She was an excellent person. RIP, Milla.
