Thor Wine Fridges - any comments?

A friend is looking for a low-mid priced built in wine fridge for the kitchen, 100+ capacity.
He has found what seems to be a good price (around $1400 can, I think) on a Thor brand dual zone and asked my advice.

I have no knowledge of this brand, does any one have any experience. Any other brand recommendations in this price range?

My advice so far is to not bother with dual zone, either save some dollars or go with better or larger for same money. Also check if shelves are adjustable or removable for those oversized bottles.

Your advice sounds good to me, Richard,

I also have no experience with Thor.

Too bad Thunder Mountain Winery no longer exists.

Wagner Winery has that covered.

For the kitchen I would look at how loud the unit is. I have a cheapo unit which has been absolutely fine for cooling and it’s now in the basement. It was very loud when turning on. We have a sub zero now and it’s quieter than our refrigerator, can’t Really say it cools any better though.
