Potential new or increased tariff on EU wines - Comments open during July 2020

I don’t really intend for this to be a thread. I just wanted to post the headline to emphasize that the tariff issue is back. Yes, wine was excluded from the just-proposed DST tariff but the existing 25% tariff in the Airbus dispute is up for review now. It could be eliminated, kept as is, expanded to other categories (Italian wine, sparkling wine, wine over 14% ABV), and/or increased from 25% up to as much as 100%.

Please don’t be misled by the once-accurate but now out-of-date headline on the the other tariff thread - but go there for discussion as it’s already started. I just wanted to use this to make sure folks knew that this was once again a live issue.

Thanks for clarifying.

And to think we were under the impression that this covid thing was bad!

I love how people still try to screw each other when the going gets rough.

This will make people realize how truly good are particular Virginia wines. Just the best, as they all say and know. And if you claim otherwise, you are lying.
