TN: 2015 Emidio Pepe Trebbiano d'Abruzzo (Italy, Abruzzi, Trebbiano d'Abruzzo)

Such a good, singular wine, already drinking well, with years ahead.

Vibrant, lively tart white with the slightest hint of a rounded-waxy texture. Super fresh on the palate, cool, crisp, invigorating. Really stains the palate and you can taste it for a minute after. Very fine with years to go. Old vine bottling.

Nice note Dennis. These wines from Pepe are special.

Tom

wait, are you saying that there are 2 different bottlings of the white as well as the reds? Arggh!!! [head-bang.gif]

Thanks, Tom!

Eric- Yes- I do believe that is the case. https://www.emidiopepe.com/downloads/Selezione_Vecchie_Vigne_EN.pdf

Two years later. Still going. A little more rounded now, also a slightly darker color.

VV bottling. Two years since last bottle, This is still humming along. Really love this. Vibrant, lively peach and green apple with a rounded, slightly oily texture. Super fresh on the palate, wiry acid and a long finish. Morphing as it sits in the glass. Steely, cool, round, herbal.[/i]
