Complex and ethereal with aromas of rose petal, beef stock, mirepoix, Hoisin, black earth and something sweet and vinous. It is super silky against the gums and there is power without weight. The whole mouth is filled with fruit and savoury things and it builds through the palate, fanning out on the finish. Perfect in every way and in a perfect place.
Sounds fresher than the bottle we had a decade ago!
It was a better bottle, quite perfect despite having a fill about 6cm down from the cork.

damn. Drinking even better than usual lately. Funny how the delicate Pinot Noir tolerates ullage so well.
Sounds like a 92 at best. 
Sounds like a perfect bottle. The last time I had the 78 La Tache was four years ago and that bottle was also perfect.
