Our 7th release of Ultramarine is coming soon and because of your continued support we are offering a guaranteed allocation on September 8th and 9th two days before the main release. We hope it can offer a respite, however small, in these stressful times.

The 2016 vintage reminds me quite a bit of 2012 but with a bit more polish. These are focused, serious wines which will benefit from some aging — try the blanc de noirs first if you can’t wait, or revisit the 2013s which are drinking superbly now. We have a bit more wine this vintage than in previous years so your allocation is a tiny bit larger.

In addition, we have a small number of 2012 blanc de blanc and blanc de noirs bottles to share. They are limited to one per customer and are not guaranteed. They are sold one a first come, first served basis.

We'll have full notes and pricing in the release letter. Wishing you the best of health.
Did this go out today? I haven’t received anything. I’ve been a buyer for the last 3-4 years, but maybe it’s only to a certain group with an even longer history?
Didn’t get any emails today either

At least you're getting some, I doubt after only 2.5 years on the waitlist I will get a sniff [cry.gif]

Same for me. I imagine that since '16 was the last year of the drought there's less wine to go around than '15, and the cutoff for a guaranteed allocation is a little stricter.

$110 BdB/BdN, $70 Rose (WL only). Note these are not convention 12's but late disgorged wines, and come with the following note:

We have about a hundred bottles of both the Blanc de blancs and the Blanc de noirs that we have left on lees in bottle for a total of 7 years. The acidity in both has mellowed and integrated. The wines overall are significantly richer than the normal disgorgements. We do think of these wines as experiments and not a “better” Ultramarine. Enjoy them with that in mind and we’d love to hear your feedback.

Same here. Allocated 6 bottles the last few years. Surprised for the increase.

They must of produced a lot more rose to offer wishlist for the 2016. First time I’ve seen this. With three different bottling, it was strange how they were grouped together- production couldn’t be the same for all.

Really don't get why I'm not on the guaranteed allocation list this year, especially since the allocations seem to be bigger this time around. I've been buying since the first vintage and did get a guaranteed allocation last year [swearing.gif]

I tend to see this inconsistency with some lists. I get the above with Alban (have been buying for years and generally only get offered Reva, Viognier and Patrina).
I didn't see magnums in this offering. Anyone know if '16 mags will be offered at all?

In for 3/3 + one of each 12 LD; I’ve had the 10 LD before at the ultramarine dinner at majordomo and it’s fantastic; excited to try the 12.

Also drinking a 2014 BdB tonight and agree it’s fantastic. I bought 1 of my 3 packs of the 2016s this morning when the email hit, but after opening this 2014 and having a glass I went back and grabbed the other 3 pack...

Someone mentioned UM has never been profitable, but I see it on the secondary market for $200/bottle. I am totally happy it's not that much on the list, but why doesn't this operation raise their prices a little to enjoy the bigger margins they deserve and people will be happy to pay?

Because when you approach $100 the enticement of some the very best champagnes comes into play. IMO they are priced perfectly right now, a premium for Domestic sparkling, but not quite encroaching on the cream of the champagne world.

$200 is pure label drinking.

They haven’t been around that long and my oldest only goes back to 2011, but in checking my notes, they should easily be able to age 10+ years from vintage.
