I’ve had my cellar for quite a bit and rarely run in to issues. Recently though, the GFI that my condenser plugs in to outside my house popped causing the air exchanger to just blow room temp air in to the cellar. I caught it before things got above 62 however I could have easily been away. So now I’m in the market for a digital thermometer/hygrometer that can connect to my wifi and send me alerts if a given metric goes off the rails. Google is helping however anyone here with first hand recs or thoughts goes a longer way.
I’ve used the Wireless Tag four four or five years and have been quite happy. It’s a bit difficult to pry open the tag/sensor to replace the battery, but that’s my only complaint. The app is great and the readings seem very reliable.
Edit: I remember now that I chose the SensorPush over the wireless sensor tag because the former is completely wireless. The wireless tag “Ethernet Tag Manager” requires connection to an Ethernet cable I believe.
Sensor push looks interesting and similiar to wireless but tag but lacks motion sensing and some of the advanced features of wireless tag.
I find the motion sensor very useful as I can get alerts everytime someone enters and exits one of my cellars.
The tag is significantly less expensive. been using the tag+ for several years am very happy with the results.
EDIT: Here’s a link to a longer thread on this topic.
