Does anyone have a rec for a digital cellar thermometer/hygrometer

Hi Folks,

I’ve had my cellar for quite a bit and rarely run in to issues. Recently though, the GFI that my condenser plugs in to outside my house popped causing the air exchanger to just blow room temp air in to the cellar. I caught it before things got above 62 however I could have easily been away. So now I’m in the market for a digital thermometer/hygrometer that can connect to my wifi and send me alerts if a given metric goes off the rails. Google is helping however anyone here with first hand recs or thoughts goes a longer way.

thanks in advance

I use wireless tags. Super easy, mobile app to monitor with alarms. http://wirelesstag.net/

There are also a few threads on this if you do a search.

Thanks, I just took another look at the search results. I overlooked the recent Wine Bottle Thermometer thread as I was just thinking room temp.

Surprisingly I’m unfamiliar with wireless tags however after a quick read they seem to be the way to go. I can set up for bottle and room temp, etc…

Much appreciated

Yes, there are other threads on this topic.

I’ve used the Wireless Tag four four or five years and have been quite happy. It’s a bit difficult to pry open the tag/sensor to replace the battery, but that’s my only complaint. The app is great and the readings seem very reliable.

I’ve been using SensorPush for several years, never had a problem with them…using them to monitor four different cellars. Highest recommendation!

I use with the gateway

Edit: I remember now that I chose the SensorPush over the wireless sensor tag because the former is completely wireless. The wireless tag “Ethernet Tag Manager” requires connection to an Ethernet cable I believe.

+1 on SensorPush. Super easy, reliable, and good app

Sensor push looks interesting and similiar to wireless but tag but lacks motion sensing and some of the advanced features of wireless tag.
I find the motion sensor very useful as I can get alerts everytime someone enters and exits one of my cellars.

The tag is significantly less expensive. been using the tag+ for several years am very happy with the results.

I use SensorPush and like it. I particularly like the ability to calibrate the temperature in an ice bath. It had to be adjusted by about a degree.

Netatmo weather station.

  • wifi
  • app install on your cell, graphing temp+humidity
  • set alarms for whatever you want
  • pretty accurate
  • main unit runs of A/C, no batteries
