Yes, thanks Russ, info is nice to see. I got sniped at the last second last night but also won a few auctions. All as it should be. Thank goodness for sniping, otherwise I’d buy wayyyy too much!

Worked great. Thank you for everything. [cheers.gif]
I wanted to point out that from Russ's transparency and personal attention to the courtesy of the customer service staff, Winebid is a class-act company that I will continue to use enthusiastically!

Russ, am I reading that correctly that you are adding bottles during the week? It has become a Sunday night ritual in my house to peruse the new week's offerings with a glass in hand, but really that's the one time a week I look at new listings. How do you decide on what to list later and is this a new policy/practice?
Hi JViz- for the most part, the vast majority of the new auction items will be loaded on Sunday night- we don't want to disrupt your Sunday night ritual! In the past, we have occasionally added wine during the week when there was a huge overflow from the prior week that wasn't ready for Sunday night. However, this year has been so crazy because of the pandemic, and we are getting a LOT of wine in, and often it comes in too late in the week to be ready for Sunday night. Our inspectors and photographers are really busy, and we don't like to let wine sit out of auction for the extra week. Plus, we are adding a lot more high quality "buy now" wine- some consignors and many buyers are asking for that. When we do upload a big batch of new wine mid-week, we'll definitely let you know about it, as we did this past week by email and app push notification. And, if you have your favorites set up, you will also get notified in your weekly favorites email.

Maybe you want to make WineBid an early Friday evening and Sunday night ritual? [wow.gif] Your feedback is important and valued- let me know what you think!

Russ, It's been my habit to look for wines I'm interested once. Almost always Sunday night, sometimes Monday. I'm sure that's true of many regular customers. I'd suggest if you do a late add to get them in before some deadline, then send out some opt-in email reminder linking us to just the late adds. That should help both potential buyers and sellers of those wines.

Thanks for the feedback, Wes. That's how we do it right now, although sounds like we should make it more prominent and clear when we do mid-week adds. More to come soon!

I like half bottles as much as anyone, but paying 83 for a half of 2014 Montrose feels a little steep when the full 750 sells at 96

Lol. Normally I’ld agree but one was a NZ Pinot that went for over $80 all in. Seems high. Probably worth it from a juice stand point but that is a pretty big premium on a $35 bottle. Other was a 99 NSG . Sold for more than lowest WS retail. I’m taking my ball and going home. Until next Sunday.

I don't bid on that many lots but don't like bidding against wine board members, so if your handle is obvious (or you PM me) I won't bid against you.

Did anyone experience some slowdown issue during the last 10 mins or so? Seems like it happened again. And now, the wines I've been tracking have not carried over. Not sure why this keeps happening lately.

Everything I was tracking from last week that hasn't sold still showed up today when I placed my bids. But my current tracking list is empty, although I'm sure there were some wines that I tracked that didn't sell today. I rarely look this early in the week, so I can't say whether that's normal or not...

$41 before premium. Not too crazy. Those Wylies sat at $50 all week. I’m surprised by the run-up. There has been silly action on Sundays.

I agree, a price history function (other than the very rough graph) would be a highly welcomed feature

Hi all, we're on it. Everything closed fine, there is a delay in getting the statements out and things rolled over. We thought we had it fixed with the extra cloud capacity. Will be getting something out to everyone later tonight or first thing in the morning. Thanks for your patience. Feel free to email me directly at rmann@winebid.com or email service@winebid.com or call (888) 638-8968 tomorrow during PST business hours if anything does not look right tomorrow morning.

We were all chasing the same wines. lol
I fell asleep on the couch at 9:30 and missed sparring with Brian over the Wylie Fenaughtys and Jay on all those Arcadian. Really wanted some of the older Pisoni
One way to save money: fall asleep before the fury of the closing auction.
I was outbid on the older Pisoni and heroically refrained from getting into a bidding war.

Still a bunch active this week. See if I fare better this Sunday.

I already overspent this month's wine budget so no competition from me.

Next Sunday is August, so it's a whole new month's budget to blow.

The 2001 Wylie-Fenaughty Syrah went for 100 before premium per a quick google search. Can’t find the Robles
There were 2 different lots of that. I won the one bottle lot for $50 before premium.

Anyway, I'd also like to report a problem with the site. I bought too much wine this week. [cheers.gif]

Russ, thanks for being so responsive. Email did arrive and as was suggested, it was in my purchases folder before that was in my inbox.

Are there plans to change the website to let users search past lots for sold prices?

BTW Dennis - if things ever get back to normal and you make it up to the NYC/Jersey City area I'd be happy to open any of these bottles which I have remaining. Or if I get down to Atlanta but I think the last time I did that was about 15+ years ago and back then I didn't have dogs who needed looking after.

Jay- Thanks. I Would really like to make that happen one day. And would be fitting as you (or Hardy?) brought the 2001 Garys' to dinner the one time we met here in ATL. Let's make it happen when life gets back to normal [cheers.gif]

All I remember is that I brought a red and a Kunstler Stielweg. And that I enjoyed the dinner tremendously.

I certainly owned 2001 Gary's at one point so I might have brought it. But it could just as easily have been Hardy. Do you have any idea what year that was?
