TN: 2012 Rhys Chardonnay Alpine Vineyard

  • 2012 Rhys Chardonnay Alpine Vineyard - USA, California, San Francisco Bay, Santa Cruz Mountains (6/21/2020)
13.3% abv. Medium straw, expressive aromas. On the palate, apple, pear, cinnamon, and a citrus note on the back palate. Absolutely superb balance, depth, length with poise and personality to spare. A beautiful, confident Chardonnay in the prime of life, strutting her stuff! (97 pts.)

Thanks for the note, Mike. This is a sensational bottle of wine. Look forward to my next bottle.

Thanks for the note, love their Chards.

I also had this same bottle last night, drinking suburb.

Loved the 2010 as well.

Welllll, hell. I was going to keep holding this one, but now you’ve made it sound criminal to not enjoy one now. Thanks for the note!

Brian, it tasted young and vibrant, even though beautifully balanced. This was my last Alpine '12, but I bet it will be even better in 4-5 years.

Had this last Christmas. Superlative example from Rhys. In the top handful of domestic chardonnay. I too, have no more. :frowning:
