TN: 2003 Chateau Montelena Chardonnay

Straw to light amber color. Stone fruits and tropical flowers on the nose. There was something else I couldn’t quite place, earthier. Taste was of peach/apricot with a long citrus finish. Hint of caramel/toffee. Round mouth feel but not very buttery. Medium acidity and strong fruit flavor means this might have some life left, if I can hold off drinking my remaining bottles.

I’ve had a 70-30 mix of great old bottles and oxidized bottles when drinking Montelena chard at around that age.

I’m all out of them now, though. Thanks for the note.
