AFAIK, this is the entry level bottling. It’s a beauty.
Healthy deep crimson color. The aromas have moderate intensity, featuring all black fruit, a blend of raspberry and cherry. There is a hint of minerality in the background. The palate is fine, with very good density for a basic bottling. This is both piquant and refined, with excellent texture that blends vivacity with solidity. Floral notes appear in the mid-palate, unexpected and lovely. Very primary, no earthiness that I often find in Patricia Green wines, both at a higher level and especially with age, but this is singing right now. I assume it might improve, but it’s open for business tonight, a welcome addition to the local bird and local asparagus, stir-fried with Asian stuff and served with non-local rice. Rated 92.5, up to a point of improvement possible, but I’ll drink most of mine this year.
