Most ugly wine labels?

Since we have a “most beautiful wine labels” thread, figured we need a counterpart. I nominate Domaine de L’Arlot.

Bully Hill NY… a label with a goat, enjoy some finger lakes plonk!

Really?

It’s not exactly beautiful but I wouldn’t call it ugly. Information is clear.

Without knowing the producer ahead of time, would you buy this bottle?

How about Laurent Ponsot’s new label…

We’ve been down this path before.

Arlot debate as well…

That’s a different question.
Beauty or ugliness of label has zero impact on whether I buy a wine.

There may be things about the label that sow doubt. Segue…
Your example is interesting. I’m not familiar with Ponsot wines but that label sure doesn’t look plausible to me. For that reason absent proof it’s genuine, no I wouldn’t. If genuine, and I could afford it, then sure.

I thought this was all looking rather familiar.

No wonder it didn’t come up in my search. I wasn’t looking for “fugly” :joy:

Is the H silent?

I agree, I don’t really think of that as an ugly label. Bully Hill certainly is in that realm for me though.

“It’s what’s inside that counts“. (C) Fosters Lager. (I think).

Any SQN labels.

That would also be my 1st choice …

That’s a bit harsh. It went down very well when it was cross-promoted with Terminator 2 on release.

Old Lytton Springs winery labels.

I don’t know why, but I hate the Billecart-Salmon logo/label. I mean, what it it? I guess a poorly abstracted B and S? Why does it look like a terrible early-2000s band logo or something?

Interesting. I think their labels are quite beautiful, but of course this is all subjective.

I like Laurel Glen wines and own a few, but the label looks pretty cheap and dated.
