Dipping back into the cellar tonight, and revisiting the HbB/HdN auction from the 2005 vintage with the Hospice de Nuits Nuit-St.-George “Les Didiers” Burgundy from Jaques Duret.
Still quite dark in the glass, with just a little orange around the edge. Really expressive on the nose right off the bat, with cinnamon, clove, bing cherries, and earth. Supple and plump on the palate, with great acidity, and a very smooth mouthfeel. A great bottle of wine that was perfect with simple roast pheasant tonight.
