TN: 2001 Selbach-Oster Zeltinger Schlossberg Riesling Spätlese

  • 2001 Selbach-Oster Zeltinger Schlossberg Riesling Spätlese - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (5/23/2020)
I cannot remember the last time I opened this wine, but no time like the present! Oh my gosh is it good. The acidity just ripples through the wine, setting off the primary lime zest, and developed candied orange. Pine needle draped forest floor emerges on the mid-palate, and a light patina of creaminess adds richness and depth to the finish. It’s frankly perfect right now, in a place where it compels rather than invites the next sip.

Thought you weren’t pulling these till the summer :stuck_out_tongue:

Either way, nice note!

Unearthed them yesterday while looking for something else. Had to open one.

It’s hot enough here locally to be summer!

Supposed to be in the mid 80s most of this coming week. Riesling weather!
