TN: 2013 Domaine Michelot Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrières

Came as part of a mixed case with some other goodies from their Canadian importer.

The nose is quite round, with wood, hazelnuts, lemon curd, and an attractive saline note. The palate is much the same, with a lightly honeyed finish and a lot of wet stonelike mineral character. Acidity is still quite sharp which gives it nice lift. I’d say this is a rather straightforward, even nondescript Meursault; as I understand it, this is a pretty large estate and I can’t find much about them that gives any indication that they’re a particularly notable producer. Still, pleasant and nothing to complain about.

thanks, not well known to me either.
