1998 Castell’in Villa Chianti Classico Riserva Poggio delle Rose - Italy, Tuscany, Chianti, Chianti Classico DOCG (5/21/2020)
Maybe a bit past peak - better on the palate, with decent acidity for lift, albeit a bit short on the finish.
The nose has a slightly raisined edge to it. But I don’t want to come off too harsh here - this is still drinking pretty well for a 20+ year old wine from a so-so vintage.

2010 Fattoria di Fèlsina Berardenga Chianti Classico - Italy, Tuscany, Chianti, Chianti Classico DOCG (5/21/2020)
Love the nose here - fresh, leaning more red fruit than black, with an earthy note as well.
Decent acidity, but like the Poggio delle Rose I just had, pulls up a little short on the finish. Still, given the price, hard to argue with this.

2015 Azienda Agricola San Giuseppe Rosso di Montalcino Stella di Campalto - Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Rosso di Montalcino (5/17/2020)
First time trying the new vintage.
Youthfully clenched on the palate, with a tannic bite on the finish. The nose is effusive on opening, with ripe cherry fruit. Surprisingly, this wouldn’t be a waste to try right now, but it has a lot of time and favorable development ahead of it.

2015 Il Poggione (Proprietá Franceschi) Brunello di Montalcino - Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino (5/17/2020)
Just tried the '15 Stella di Campalto Rosso, and the nose here is even better. Lush and heady, with ripe red & black fruit.
The palate is a little more diffuse than the Stella, and doesn’t have that tannic bite on the finish. But another wine drinking very well on release.
