2009 Joseph Loriot-Pagel Champagne Special Club - France, Champagne (5/17/2020)

Opened by a friend who purchased this in France. I was able to visit this house back in 2013. This Marne Valley producer is located in Festigny and has been making their own Champagne since 1932. Festigny is an area known for Pinot Meunier. When this was released, it was one of only two 100% Pinot Meunier Special Clubs (Mousse being the other). Since then Salmon also released a 100% Meunier SC. 2009 is the first Special Club vintage bottled by the estate. 3rd time I have had this with similar notes. This has put on some weight since I last had it and it is getting more doughy with age. Notes of peaches, brioche and almonds. Solid bead with a medium body. This should continue to drink well for at least another 5 years. 92 points.
