  • 2013 Bedrock Wine Co. Syrah Griffin's Lair - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (5/7/2020)
Opened for the Wineberserkers Morgan and Joel Zoom Chat. Opened at 6 pm, decanted, followed until 10 pm. This wine needed at least an hour of air, and probably two hours, before it started to shine. Brooding floral nose, red fruit starting to peek out from under the covers as it gets a bit of age. Cherry and plum. No Syrah Pepper spice. This is definitely a fruit driven wine but without jammy over-ripeness. Soft and sexy. With luck, I will remember to hold my second bottle until at least its tenth anniversary. (93 pts.)
